Protectt.ai Takes Majority Stake in Bosch-incubated AIShield

Protectt.ai Labs has acquired a majority stake in AIShield, an AI security platform incubated at Bosch Global Software Technologies (BGSW), through a primary share issuance and a secondary purchase from existing investors.

AIShield will operate as an independent company, AI Shield Private Limited, under Protectt.ai, with the investment intended to fund product development, research and development, and international expansion.

AIShield’s platform covers AI security assessments, red teaming, runtime protection and safety guardrails. It is designed to identify and address risks in AI applications, including prompt injection and other vulnerabilities.

The company has more than 40 patent filings, including 11 granted patent families, and serves customers across Europe and the Middle East.

The deal brings AIShield’s AI security technology together with Protectt.ai’s mobile application security platform and enterprise customer base.

Protectt.ai serves banks, non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), insurers, fintech companies and government platforms in India. The company said the partnership would also help expand AIShield’s presence across Asian markets, particularly in regulated industries.

The investment comes as enterprises deploy AI systems in business-critical workflows, increasing demand for tools to test models, detect vulnerabilities and enforce security controls during deployment.

AIShield’s offering spans development and production environments, while its runtime protection capabilities are intended to address risks that emerge when AI applications are in use. The companies also plan to develop sovereign AI security capabilities, aimed at giving enterprises greater control over where their AI systems, data and workloads reside and how they are governed.

Protectt.ai founder and CEO Manish Mimani said the companies aim to build India’s first full-stack AI security platform covering “AI for Security, Security for AI and Sovereign AI Security”.

The company is backed by Bessemer Venture Partners and operates across India, the Middle East and North Africa, Southeast Asia and the US. It says its security products protect more than 900 million devices and secure over 10 billion sessions each month.
