Accenture Invests in YearOne to Boost AI-Driven Software Development

Accenture made a strategic investment in YearOne, a company that uses AI to improve how digital products are designed and developed. The move is part of Accenture Ventures’ efforts to help businesses speed up software development with better insights and team performance.

YearOne’s platform pulls together data from various tools used by software teams and turns it into clear, real-time insights. This helps companies spot bottlenecks, productivity gaps and patterns that might otherwise go unnoticed. The system offers suggestions and coaching to help teams deliver better and faster.

“AI-driven visibility is essential for modern engineering teams. It’s not just about making software development more efficient; it’s about empowering teams to learn and grow by providing clear insights,” Tom Lounibos, global lead for Accenture Ventures, said.

The platform also gives managers a clearer picture of how teams are working, whether they’re spending too much time in meetings or not enough on focused tasks. Leaders can then make informed decisions to improve output and reduce rework.

“AI is flooding the stack with shortcuts and surface-level output. The challenge businesses face today isn’t speed—it’s precision,” Stephen Ajayi, founder and CEO of YearOne, said. “It’s preserving engineering craft in a world that’s optimising faster than it’s understanding. We see engineering organisations that are rich in signal—but buried in noise. Through our platform, we aim to provide teams the clarity and control to turn that chaos into leverage.”

Accenture Song is already using the platform to measure how well engineering teams perform, including how effectively they are using AI tools. The platform is also helping identify skill gaps where more training could be useful.

Dan Garrison, chief technology officer at Accenture Song, said, “The platform can simultaneously improve digital product software development while also upskilling teams—helping people deliver faster and more accurately.”

As part of the deal, YearOne will join Accenture Ventures’ Project Spotlight, a program that connects startups with Accenture’s business experts and global clients to help them grow faster and make a bigger impact.
