Wipro Wins Multi-Million-Dollar Deal to Modernise Etihad Airways’ Technology

Etihad Airways has chosen Wipro Limited to lead a major technology modernisation project. The five-year contract aims to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.

Wipro’s financial results for the quarter ending December 31, 2024, referenced this deal, though the client’s name was not disclosed at the time.

Wipro FullStride Cloud will deploy a tailored cloud-based solution to enhance Etihad Airways’ scalability and real-time resource management. As part of the modernisation, GenAI modules will be integrated into Etihad’s IT framework, enabling the automation of data centres, improved device management, and enhanced end-user support. 

Wipro’s Innovation Lab in the UAE will play a crucial role in supporting Etihad’s technology transformation. It will modernise Etihad’s IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless migration from legacy systems and optimising key areas like network, workplace, and service management.

Together, we aim to elevate our customers’ experiences through advanced automation, intelligent operations, and enhanced observability,” Frank Meyer, chief digital officer of Etihad Airways, said.

Wipro has been operating in the Middle East for over two decades, employing thousands of professionals and supporting local talent. 

Vinay Firake, CEO of APMEA, Wipro Limited, said, “We are excited to embark on this journey with Etihad Airways and enable them to adapt to the dynamic needs of the aviation industry.”Earlier, during the Q3 FY25 earnings call, Wiprochief Srini Pallia revealed that the company aims to actively explore the applications of agentic AI in various sectors, including customer service and supply chain management, in the coming quarters.
