The Standard Launches New GCC in India

The Standard, a leading US-based provider of insurance, retirement and investment products, has announced the launch of StanCorp Global Services India Private Limited (The Standard India), its new global capability centre (GCC) in India, as per the press release.

The centre will support the company’s technology transformation, drive innovation and create high-value jobs as part of its long-term growth plans.

Alongside the announcement, the company appointed Mohua Sengupta as senior vice president and country head for India. Sengupta brings nearly three decades of experience across banking, financial services and IT, and most recently headed the Novartis India GCC. Her previous leadership roles include positions at 3i Infotech, ITC Infotech, IGATE, Mphasis, Accenture, Wipro and the Royal Bank of Canada.

“Her skills and leadership characteristics fit well with The Standard’s culture and she will be an incredible asset to our company as we scale and grow our U.S. business, ” Greg Chandler, executive vice president of Information Technology at The Standard said.

“The Standard India will provide access to specialised global talent here in India who will deliver more efficient solutions for current and future customers, and scale more sustainably,” Sengupta said.

In her new role, Sengupta will oversee operations in Bengaluru and Pune, including financial, compliance and regulatory responsibilities, while also leading all employees of The Standard India.

The new GCC will begin with 175 employees who today transition from Allstate India Private Limited to The Standard India. These employees joined The Standard when the company acquired Allstate’s Employer Voluntary Benefits business on April 1, 2025.
