Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was appointed the official AI & technology partner for the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris on Tuesday. This new three-year partnership will enable TCS to use its expertise in artificial intelligence and digital technology to improve the experience for both runners and spectators.
The Paris Marathon, one of the world’s largest running events, attracts over 55,000 participants from more than 145 countries. TCS will introduce new innovations to the race, including AI-powered tools for performance tracking, personalised training insights, and enhanced digital experiences for viewers.
Abhinav Kumar, chief marketing officer of TCS said that “By integrating advanced analytics, AI, digital twin technologies across various aspects of the marathon experience, we not only aim to enhance performance and well-being, but also shaping a more connected and intelligent sporting ecosystem at one of the world’s most iconic race.”
TCS will also draw on its innovation hub in Paris, PacePort, to explore ideas like immersive race day experiences, AI-based personal coaching, and tools to help motivate runners and keep them healthy.

This partnership is part of the tech company’s broader support for running events across the world. The company now sponsors 14 global marathons, including major races in New York, London, Chicago, Boston, and Sydney. In 2024, TCS-backed races raised nearly $280 million for various charities.

TCS has a strong presence in France, working with more than 80 major companies, including 18 listed on the CAC 40 stock index. The company has also opened delivery centres in Paris-Suresnes, Lille, Poitiers, and Toulouse and was recently ranked first in customer satisfaction for the sixth year in a row by Whitelane Research.
