OpenAI has launched a new initiative, ‘Chats for College Students in India,’ showcasing how students across the country are using ChatGPT to study, upskill, and navigate college life. The collection features over 50 real prompts created and ranked by students through the ChatGPT Lab program.
The curated chats reflect the diversity of student life, from exam prep and study planning to learning new languages, exploring creative projects, and managing everyday challenges. Some prompts simplify tough concepts like operating systems or fluid mechanics, while others help students draft professional emails, plan trips, or explore career options.
One example prompt reads, “I have an Operating Systems test tomorrow. Teach me everything important from the exam perspective using any interactive method.”
Another asks ChatGPT to “Create a day-by-day study schedule for my semester exams with revision, breaks, and mock tests.” Other creative prompts include “Teach me why things float as if you are Archimedes,” “Make a story-style example to understand investment appraisal,” and “I’m stuck between joining the media cell or the partnership cell — give me a pros and cons table to help decide.”
“Our new ‘Chats for College Students in India’ initiative spotlights 50+ examples of this brilliance in action. It reinforces our commitment to being a collaborative partner in India, learning from and contributing to this incredible ecosystem,” posted Pragya Misra, director of public affairs & partnerships at OpenAI India, on LinkedIn.
She added that it’s inspiring to see education emerge as the top use case for ChatGPT in the country. Misra said that students are not just using the tool to find answers, but to build critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
The project shows how generative AI is becoming embedded in Indian college life — not as a shortcut, but as a support system for curiosity, creativity, and self-directed learning.
