Dell Technologies has appointed Manish Gupta as the new president and managing director for India, effective immediately.
Gupta succeeds Alok Ohrie, who is stepping down to spend more time with his family and focus on personal pursuits. Based in Bengaluru, he will lead Dell’s strategic growth initiatives and sales efforts nationwide.
With over 25 years of experience in the IT industry, including more than a decade at Dell Technologies, Gupta has held several leadership positions.
Most recently, he led global alliances, channel engagement, and strategy development for the APJC region. He also previously served as vice president of the infrastructure solutions group in India, where he played a key role in Dell’s local success.
Gupta emphasised India’s potential and Dell’s readiness to capitalise on emerging opportunities, saying, “India presents immense opportunities, with businesses striving to harness technology for agility and competitive advantage. I look forward to working with our customers and partners as they navigate change and drive an AI-powered future.”
Meanwhile, Dell Technologies is building an AI Factory with NVIDIA GPUs for powering Grok, the AI model built by Elon Musk’s xAI.
The company’s latest AI servers, powered by NVIDIA Blackwell, deliver up to 50 times greater AI reasoning inference output and a fivefold increase in throughput compared to the previous Hopper platform.
These advanced servers are being utilised by customers to generate tokens for next-generation AI applications aimed at addressing some of the world’s most pressing challenges, including disease prevention and advanced manufacturing.
