A high-level delegation from LG Corporation met the CEO of Noida Authority, Lokesh M, to confirm an investment of ₹1,000 crore for a new global research and development centre.
The centre will be built on a 27,129-square-metre plot in the Phase II industrial area.
The project aims to create around 500 new jobs and strengthen Noida’s position as a growing research and technology hub, ultimately boosting its regional economic growth. The meeting focused on finalising project logistics and timelines to ensure steady implementation.
According to the Noida Authority’s post on X, the collaboration demonstrated continued confidence in Noida’s infrastructure and policy environment. The authority added that the meeting “ensured smooth progress on the project’s logistics and timeline, reinforcing the strong collaborative relationship between LG and the Noida Authority.”
In March this year, Microsoft also laid the foundation for its proposed India Development Centre (IDC) campus in Noida.
The proposed campus in Noida’s Sector 145 covered 15 acres with a built-up area of 1.1 million square feet. Microsoft said this facility, once ready, will play a key role in strengthening India’s AI capabilities, fostering digital innovation, and supporting engineering talent.
Following that, in May, India’s first chip design centres dedicated to developing end-to-end 3-nanometer chips were announced to be built in Noida and Bengaluru by union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The facilities were established by the Indian unit of Japanese semiconductor manufacturer Renesas Electronics.
