Mumbai-based ideaForge Technology Limited has been certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to conduct its Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC) Training (Small Class) programme. The five-day certified training is aimed at upskilling drone pilots nationwide, addressing regulatory standards, and enhancing operational safety.

The programme will be open to Indian citizens aged 18 to 65, regardless of professional background, and is expected to train 200–250 pilots annually. It includes two days of ground instruction and three days of practical training in drone handling, simulator use, and maintenance.

The initiative supports India’s drive to build a self-reliant drone ecosystem and generate employment across sectors such as defence, agriculture, mining, and disaster management.

“This marks a step forward in our mission to build best-in-class drone pilots and aligns with India’s goal of becoming a global drone hub by 2030,” said Amol Suryawanshi, senior director for operations at ideaForge.

Certified instructors and cover subjects such as flight principles, aerodynamics, ATC procedures, safety protocols, and drone analytics will deliver the training. Applicants must have completed at least Class 10 and possess a valid government ID.

ideaForge also recently announced a strategic partnership with Vantage Robotics, a nano and micro UAV provider based in Silicon Valley, California. The collaboration aims to broaden ideaForge’s intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) solution offerings and strengthen its presence in the North American market.

Additionally, in a show of its capabilities, the company recently helped successfully capture and relocate a leopard spotted on the ICRISAT (International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics) campus in Hyderabad.
