Google Finally Brings Veo 3 to India with AI Pro Subscription Access

Google has officially launched Veo 3 in India, making its AI video generation tool available through the Gemini app’s AI Pro subscription.

“Today, we’re starting to roll out Veo 3 to every country where the Gemini App is available, including India,” the Veo 3 team said in a statement.

The tool allows users to create 8-second videos with sound, including synthesised speech, background music, and sound effects. Veo 3 was first introduced at Google I/O a few weeks ago and has since powered a wave of viral videos globally.

Users have generated a wide range of content, from modern reinterpretations of historical events to fictional encounters with mythical creatures.

OpenAI co-founder Andrej Karpathy recently said that Veo 3 represents a shift in how video is generated, consumed, and optimised.

Karpathy noted that the quality of content improves significantly when audio is added and that the broader implications of models like Veo 3 may not yet be fully appreciated.

He further explained that video is a high-bandwidth medium for the brain, which is used not just for entertainment, but also for work and learning. According to him, the average person finds video more accessible than reading or writing, and the barrier to creating video content is approaching zero.

To address safety concerns, Google said it is applying several safeguards. “We continue to take important steps to ensure video generation is a safe and responsible experience for everyone,” the company said. This includes extensive red teaming and evaluation, and strict enforcement of content policies.

Videos generated using photos carry both a visible watermark and an invisible SynthID marker to indicate they are AI-generated.
