Claude Users Can Now Connect Apps and Run Deep Research Across Platforms

Anthropic has announced new features for Claude, including Integrations and Advanced Research, expanding the chatbot’s ability to interact with external tools and conduct in-depth investigations.

This integration allows Claude to connect to remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers across web and desktop environments, enabling it to interact with various applications and access project histories, task statuses, and other organisational data.

According to Anthropic, “Claude becomes a more informed collaborator, helping you execute complex projects in one place with expert assistance at every step.”

Users can connect Claude to 10 services, including Atlassian’s Jira and Confluence, Zapier, Cloudflare, Intercom, Asana, Square, Sentry, PayPal, Linear, and Plaid. The company noted that more integrations from providers like Stripe and GitLab are in development. Developers can also build custom integrations in as little as 30 minutes using the provided documentation or Cloudflare’s deployment tools.

Each integration allows Claude to take new actions. With Zapier, Claude can access thousands of apps and custom workflows, such as pulling sales data from HubSpot or preparing meeting briefs. With Jira and Confluence, Claude can summarise and create multiple work items and pages simultaneously. Integrating Intercom enables Claude to manage bug reporting and user feedback workflows seamlessly from end to end.

The update also includes improvements to Claude’s Research capabilities. Users on Max, Team, and Enterprise plans can now enable an advanced mode that allows Claude to research across connected applications, Google Workspace, and the open web. Claude breaks down queries into subcomponents and gathers information over periods ranging from five to 45 minutes, returning reports with source citations.

Anthropic stated, “Claude can now conduct deeper investigations across hundreds of internal and external sources,” and when toggled into research mode, it “delivers more comprehensive reports… with clear citations that link directly to the original material.”

Web search is now available globally to all Claude users on paid plans. The Pro plan will receive access to the new integrations and advanced research in the near future.
