Bolt.new is introducing native Stripe integration for its in-browser web development agent that helps anyone build a full-stack application. With the integration in place, one can easily sell products, offer subscriptions and get paid faster.
Stripe is a payment processing giant that supports all kinds of payment methods and currencies.
The platform already included useful integrations like Netlify for deployment, Supabase for database, authentication, and file storage, and Expo for mobile application development.
As per the documentation, bolt.new relies on Supabase to make the integration work. Users need to first connect their Supabase account to their Bolt account. Once done, authentication needs to be set up for payments to work, which can be added by prompting Bolt.
Next, one needs to add Stripe API keys (test or live) in Bolt for the products to sync automatically from the Stripe dashboard.
The documentation clarifies that Supabase edge functions are necessary for payments. Firebase is not supported, nor are existing custom Stripe implementations.
Furthermore, projects using custom Stripe integrations cannot migrate to the new implementation.
If a user follows the documentation correctly, they just need to prompt “Add payments” to introduce the payment support for their app.
The company mentioned that users need to be cautious and use test cards to test drive the payment system on their apps, instead of processing real money.
With the payment system, Netizens believe that Bolt can become a powerful launchpad for SaaS ideas.
Bolt.new, the AI coding platform, has crossed $30 million in ARR with just 20 employees, in just a little over four months and has registered three million users. It is impressive to see such AI startups, with tiny teams, announcing developments and making progress.
