Airtel’s Xtelify Launches Sovereign ‘Airtel Cloud’ for Indian Enterprises

Xtelify, the digital arm of Bharti Airtel, has launched ‘Airtel Cloud’, a sovereign, telco-grade cloud platform aimed at Indian businesses. The cloud service is designed to handle 140 crore transactions per minute and promises up to 40% optimisation in cloud spending.

Hosted in next-generation data centres in India, the platform ensures that all data and operational controls remain within the country. The launch aims to support Indian enterprises seeking secure, scalable cloud solutions amid rising data localisation requirements.

Gopal Vittal, vice chairman and managing director of Bharti Airtel, mentioned that the cloud guarantees no vendor lock-in and is managed by 300 certified cloud experts. “We are privileged to have signed on partnerships with three top-tier companies already, Singtel, Globe Telecom and Airtel Africa,” Vittal announced.

These partnerships will deploy AI-driven platforms to enhance customer service, improve operational efficiency and support large field teams.

The Cloud

According to Vittal, Airtel Cloud currently supports over 590 million customer touchpoints, managing some of the telecom sector’s most complex operations at optimised costs. He also addressed a key concern for enterprises managing sensitive information and regulatory compliance.

The company’s sovereign approach ensures zero possibility of external entities accessing data or operations. “All controls of our cloud will reside strictly within the country, ensuring zero possibility of any entity outside India being able to access any part of this data or its workings,” Vittal added.

Airtel Cloud provides infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS), along with advanced connectivity. It is hosted on sustainable data centres and uses AI-powered provisioning for efficient operations.

What Will the Partnerships Achieve?

While Airtel Cloud targets Indian enterprises, Xtelify also introduced AI-powered software solutions for global telecom operators, signing partnerships. Singtel will use Xtelify Work to equip its field teams in Singapore with AI-driven task management and tracking.

Ng Tian Chong, CEO at Singtel Singapore, said, “This platform enables us to reimagine our workflows with AI at the core, improving both efficiency and customer service. By optimising dispatch and resource management, our engineers can reach customers more quickly, resolve issues with greater accuracy and reduce our overall carbon footprint.”

Globe Telecom in the Philippines will deploy Xtelify Serve to enhance customer experience and streamline operations. Airtel Africa will adopt Xtelify Data Engine, Work and IQ to support its 1.5 lakh field staff across 14 countries, improve fraud protection and enable real-time, omnichannel customer engagement.

Xtelify said it aims to accelerate digital transformation for Indian businesses and support the growth of secure, cost-efficient cloud adoption in the country. The company said the platform is already used to run Airtel’s internal applications and customer touchpoints at a large scale, allowing it to offer a proven solution to businesses.
