Purpose-built AI agents convert VB6 applications to Blazor and .NET at a fixed price, backed by the team behind Microsoft’s original Visual Basic Upgrade Wizard
GAPVelocity AI, the AI modernization business unit of Growth Acceleration Partners (GAP), today announced VELO for VB6, an agentic AI platform that converts Visual Basic 6 applications into Blazor and C# .NET applications for Microsoft Azure. Delivered today as a managed service, VELO provides beta-ready code at a price agreed before work begins. The product will be available as a self-service application in November.
Built on Microsoft Foundry, VELO uses specialized agents to inventory the application, map its target architecture, convert the code, and validate the result against the original behavior. The process carries forward business rules embedded in decades of VB6 code.
“Every VB6 application still in production is there because it does something the business cannot live without,” said Darryl Worsham, General Manager of GAPVelocity AI. “VELO carries that business logic forward and gives customers a fixed investment price before the work begins.”
Built for complex VB6 applications
VB6 modernization requires more than translating individual files. It means untangling dependencies across forms, modules, ActiveX controls, and data access code while maintaining a coherent application architecture. VELO applies a purpose-built modernization methodology to that work.
The team behind VELO built the original Visual Basic Upgrade Wizard shipped with Microsoft Visual Studio. Through its ArtinSoft and Mobilize.Net heritage, GAPVelocity AI brings decades of migration experience and more than a billion lines of modernized legacy code to the platform.
